Meal planning around family activities - Use these tips!

Hi Reader,

I'm hoping this email will help simplify meal planning for you.

It doesn't have to be all or nothing - like I talk about in my "How to meal prep" ebook (which had several purchoses/5 star reviews over the weekend!)

Here is a picture of my notes app that I use to plan our meals. Most of the planning I do is "mental" planning, meaning I try to allocate certain meals we'll make this week based on what we have.

Vs. physical meal planning, where you actually make the meals. That works for some people - cooking multiple meals on Sunday. But even the mental planning helps me so much!

As you can see, I type out when I'll make parts of each meal. For me, cooking dinner at 5:00 with all 3 kids home can be a nightmare. They are all hungry and need to be entertained, plus I try to have dinner on the table at 5:30.

So, if I can do a part of the meal earlier in the day, that really helps! Today, for instance, I'll cook rice while I"m cooking oatmeal for breakfast - easy enough. I will also make the marinade so all I have to do when dinner rolls around is cook the pork really quickly and perhaps heat up a bag of frozen veggies!

This mental list helps me SO MUCH! I share many more actionable tips in the meal prep book.

Our activities this week include dance class, tball and swimming.

So, we're pretty busy 3/5 nights, so I have to do some kind of prep if I want to use up our grocery ingredients and not rely on takeout or breakfast for dinner every night.
